Many androgens—especially the strongest ones, such as Oxymetholone—cause a drop in the body’s natural testosterone production throughout the duration of the steroid cycle.
This is easily explained when you consider that the introduction of external androgens renders the body’s production of testosterone unnecessary, since these androgens produce the same effect as testosterone.
The body therefore reacts by halting testosterone production, since it is no longer needed during the cycle.
The problem is that after the cycle ends, the body does not immediately resume testosterone production, which has dropped to dangerously low levels. It is therefore urgent to stimulate this production to avoid serious metabolic complications (weight loss, loss of strength, depression, and loss of libido).
This is why bodybuilders use Clomid, which triggers the production of endogenous testosterone in the testicles, thereby preventing this metabolic crash.
Athletes report that a daily dose of 50 to 100 mg of Clomid restores normal testosterone levels within two weeks.
